More than 2,000 renewable energy professionals will descend on Boston in March next year for the nation’s biggest offshore wind event, Reuters Events has confirmed.
The U.S. Offshore Wind conference and exhibition will take place on March 15 and 16 at the Hynes Convention Center and will feature more than 60 speakers across two tracks, 60-plus exhibition booths, more than 40 hours of networking time and six breakfast briefings.
Confirmed conferences speakers include some of the most influential figures in the industry, including Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) program manager Jim Bennett and Massachusetts Clean Energy Center offshore wind managing director Bruce Carlisle.
Also confirmed as speakers are Power Advisory president John Dalton, Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy chief deputy Jennifer Palestrant and BOEM’s renewable energy chief Necy Sumait and environment branch chief Michelle Morin.
“The U.S. offshore wind industry boom, projected to generate nearly 35 GW of power in eight East and West Coast states by 2030, presents a $70 billion revenue opportunity to businesses in the supply chain,” said Megane Holl, renewables project director at Reuters Events.
“As this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presents itself to local and international businesses, the U.S. Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition returns to Boston with one mission: to accelerate the development of the existing project pipeline and unleash new development areas.”
U.S. Offshore Wind 2022 will allow project developers, supply chain and solution providers, and federal and state policymakers and regulators to:
— Learn about current and future offshore wind projects and supply chain opportunities, with key developers and regulators sharing plans for development and requirements for suppliers.
— Meet industry collaborators to secure market share as a developer, supplier or adviser, with early commercial relationships being formed amongst offshore wind developers, financiers and supply chain players.
— Access all active and new market players in one place at one time, with more than 2,000 attendees to network with and supply chain matchmaking activities facilitating meetings with developers, operators, investors, contractors, manufacturers, consultants and more.
— Achieve all U.S. offshore wind networking goals in just two days, with the conference offering a unique meeting place for partners, clients and influencers to exchange information, assess risks and seize opportunities.
— See how the U.S. offshore wind regulatory environment is evolving, with critical details of how policy relating to the industry is developing across individual states and at federal level.
The two-day conference agenda at U.S. Offshore Wind 2022 is designed to offer value to a wide range of stakeholders, including technology developers, state institutions, manufacturers, project owners, policymakers, port operators and supply chain vendors, among others.
“This is the place where it all happens for U.S. offshore wind businesses,” said Holl. “You’ll meet every major developer, investor, contractor, supplier, manufacturer and policymaker, and get the keys to thousands of imminent supply chain and service contracts.”
