Generation mPower announced as Gold Sponsor along with confirmation on attendance from Exelon, EDF, OPG and more for this year’s groundbreaking event.
We are proud to confirm that Generation mPower will be this year’s Gold Sponsor. Generation mPower are one of the key innovators in SMR development, using mPower reactor technology to design, license and build the next generation of nuclear energy power plants. It is a privilege to have a company that shares the innovative and forward-thinking approach of the conference as our Gold Sponsor.
This week it has been confirmed by the Tennessee Valley Authority that Pete Gaillard, their SMR Licensing Manager, will be representing the company in a discussion on the progress of the Clinch River project.
In session 2 of the conference you will be able to gain insight into the challenges of building an SMRdirectly from TVA as Pete Galliard discusses the continuing site characterization at Clinch River. The strong working relationship TVA have created with the NRC and mPower and the licensing challenges (and how to overcome them) in a first-of-a-kind project such as this will also be examined.
This will provide you with many lessons from an industry leader that may be applied to your own SMR project. Also confirmed as a panel guest this week, Timothy Fischer, Director of Insurance at B&W, will be joining the session on ‘Managing Risk on Recent Nuclear Construction Programs’. Michael Kolodner, Senior Vice President – U.S. Power and Utilities for Marsh, has previously been confirmed for this panel.
This discussion will examine the importance of planning for, and managing risk on, major nuclear construction projects to ensure they are completed in time and to budget. It will also provide you with the opportunity to understand how your SMR project can benefit from lessons learnt on recent nuclear construction projects, along with info on how you can utilize similar methods to avoid costly delays.
Joining the 200+ attendees already confirmed are:
• Exelon • Xcel Energy • GE Hitachi
• EDF • Energy Northwest • URS
