Gamesa, a leading player in the renewable energy space, today announced the commissioning of 58 MW of solar power projects in the first quarter of 2016, located in the states of Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttarakhand.
Specifically, Gamesa has been responsible for engineering & design, supply of inverters, erection and commissioning of the orders comprising of 58MW of solar power. Gamesa’s rich EPC experience and its customers’ longstanding trust have been key to reach this incremental growth in the solar space.

This focus on the photovoltaic sector in India fits with the strategic goal enshrined in the 2015-2017 business plan of exploring opportunities in businesses that complement the wind industry, such as solar power. India’s solar potential has been sized at 750 GW. The government’s goal is to lift installed capacity to 100 GW by 2022, compared to 3.8 GW.
