Dear solar and storage experts,
In recent weeks, Teslabs spectacular entrance into the market has further boosted what had already been widespread interest in battery and storage systems. Over one hundred submissions for this years ees AWARD and Intersolar AWARD reflect the wide range of technological innovations in the field.
Companies from Germany, other European countries, the USA and Asia have been developing new cell and battery concepts for high-performing, durable and safe storage systems and their integration into the power grid.
On June 10, 2015 at 4:30pm, Intersolar Europe and ees Europe are set to present the ees AWARD to the worlds leading electricity storage technologies at the Innovation Exchange in hall B3, booth B3.450. Link to the ees and Intersolar AWARD finalists

Durable batteries in intelligent storage systems
Progress in the production of the most prevalent battery type, lithium-ion batteries, has helped to cut costs while ensuring that efficiency remains high and cycle lives inB-crease. Optimized battery management systems extend life span, boost efficiency and improve safety.
The panel of judges was excited to learn how advanced the technology used for novel batteries based on saltwater alB-ready is, while sodium-ion cells have enormous cost-cutting potential.
Plug-and-play-type storage systems now offer a variety of functions, from back-up solutions and intelligent charge and load controls to online monitoring apps.

Grid integration in the megawatt range; Off-grid storage devices for end users and small power grids
Storage innovations also manage the grid and balance out short-term fluctuations, helping to stabilize the power grid. In Germany, for example, hundreds of small private storage devices are combined to form an intelligent large-scale storage system in the megawatt range while increasing the on-site consumption of solar power. Special megawatt storage systems for large-scale photovoltaic and wind farms take dynamic reactive power and frequency control to a new level.
ees AWARD submissions also included a few new solutions for small, self-sufficient photovoltaic installations with storage systems for end users, as well as modern solutions for large back-up systems for grids and mini-grids that can be combined with small wind turbines or diesel generators.
ees Europe is the continents largest exhibition for batteries, energy storage systems and innovative production, taking place together with Intersolar Europe 2015. More than 320 of the 1,000 exhibitors will showcase energy storage solutions, from individual components and production processes to specific examples of use.
An accompanying specialist conference consolidates the topics of the ees Europe exhibition. On all three exhibition days, expert presentations at the ees Forum will keep visitors up to date with the latest industry news and information.
